NFC Enabled Phones

With all the hype about NFC, it's got people begging the question, "What NFC Phones are on the market today?" Well, we've put together a list with all the NFC Phones currently on the market and those that are coming soon. The selection is rather limited for now, but according to Nick Pelly (technical lead for NFC at Google) at Google I/O, dozens more NFC Handsets should be on the market later this year (According to IntoMobile.com).

Our development teams use Google's Nexus S to Read, Write, Re-Write, and Format NFC Tags and Stickers, but there are several other options for reading and writing NFC. If you're interested in coding NFC directly from your Android phone, there are several apps that you can download directly from the Android Market.  The "NFC Task Launcher" allows you to create Task Tags, Profile Tags, vCard tags, Smart URL Tags, Text Tags and URI Tags (SMS, Tel, Mailto). You can even enable WiFi / Bluetooth, Launch any installed application, Change the Ringer Volume, Set an Alarm and much more. If you're looking for a Free App, some other options are the "NFC Tag Reader / Writer" and the "NXP TagWriter". These apps don't offer as many features, but are great for simple tasks and best of all, they're Free!
